Email regarding Henry Adler's Memorial Meet

I wonder if you would, via the website, thank all those in the CC involved in organising this event (last w/e) and let everyone know how much we appreciated it. I know I speak for other non-CC friends and family in this.

The event was excellent. We remembered Henry, all his involvement and support of the CC and his great enjoyment of the mountains and other climbers. There was a very warm, lively atmosphere, an excellent buffet made by Ian and Viv Smith and some stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. Henry would have been in his element, doing the rounds carrying a glass of the good 'vino' and having a good natter to one and all! There were a few difficult moments when we walked to a knoll above the hut (wonderful views up and down the Pass) and scattered Henry's ashes. But Henry hated sentimentality: he'd had a fantastic life and passed away unexpectedly and peacefully, with no apparent illness beforehand, exactly as he would have wished, so he would not have wanted us to be sad for too long. I attach a verse I read - let's remember him with joy.

Regards Bonny Masson (& for Peter Gomersall), ex- CC members.
